I need to manually edit the RPM database, but can't find which file(s) it is? Anyone know? Thanks, Fred -- Fred A. Miller Systems Administrator Cornell Univ. Press Services fm@cupserv.org, www.cupserv.org --- SuSE Linux v8.0 Pro, Netscape 7.0---

Um, it's a Berkeley DB, not editable in a text editor or using SQL. Besides, it's *really* not a good idea to mess with it in that way. Right. In fact, the "RPM database" is spread out over several files in /var/lib/rpm. Take a look at the files in that directory. If you suspect it is damaged, you can try to repaid it using: rpm --rebuilddb Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net
