[SuSE Linux] SUSE Linux : X and card !! :) Diamond

Greetings to all, After having trouble configuring my G200 AGP. I may change this board for a Diamond Viper V550 ( nVidia Riva TnT ). I already own in this system a Creative Labs Voodoo2 and a matrox Millenium G200 SD 8Mb I have two questions : If I replace those two boards with a single Diamond: - Will I have better performance in 3D ( DirectX )??? I know it s bad to use other system than Linux :) but total Annihilation and warbirds only runs on directX. - Is this board supported in Linux ??? (new version of XFree ??? ) - Do you think it's a smart move ??? ( it will cost between 80 and 100$ ) I'm waiting for your opinions Best regards GH Portefait p.s : of course the Linux compatibily is essential. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Life must be understood backwards. greetings georges, before you buy that TnT card, you might want to check out xfree86's website. apparantly nvidia has raised some sort of stink about the drivers for their cards, and my understanding is that there is (or at least was) some question about support for them in later versions of xf86. -derek - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
