Hi. I have problems setting up mu on board sound card, and would be glad to have some help. I have made 3 screenshots, that is to be found on: http://www.urbakken.dk/sound1.png http://www.urbakken.dk/sound2.png http://www.urbakken.dk/sound3.png I try to get it to work with Skype, and have never had problems with it before. Shall the volumes be set from inside Yast ?. What influence does Kmix on those settings ? As can be viewed there is some options that can be set up according to screenshot sound1.png. What options should be touched ?. Erik Jakobsen
The Kmix icon is not available in the bottom panel, can U add it and... double click on it and change the settings. That actually happened to me, the volume was too low. Fortunately isn't the ReiserFS, I had some weird troubles with that FS, everytime I use it, I don't have Audio, neither access to parallel or serial ports Hope my message reach U on time or helps U Carlos A.

I keep reading these weird reports on reiserfs in this list. I have used reiserfs since it first came out, on numerous boxes and I run 3 SuSE boxes including 1 x86_64, 2 Mandriva LE 2005 and 1 gentoo, all reiserfs based - I've only ever experienced a problem when hardware mangled my HD's or the HD's themselves went faulty. Most people run reiserfs without problems. My hardware includes SCSI disks, on USB - webcam/serial port/Kodak DX3600 camera/bluetooth dongle/CH Products Flightsim Yoke & Pedals/flash card reader/printer/scanner, PCMCIA modem and ethernet card on the x86_64 laptop. The failures I've had which appeared at first to be filesystem ... faulty IDE controllers, CPU's, HD's, memory and other motherboard problems, the latest was the x86_64 hard drive a couple of months ago and it was dead for both EXT3 and reiserfs. I should think that SuSE, Mandriva, gentoo and other distros' users both Enterprise and home would be up in arms if reiserfs was such a problem. The kernel mailing list, blogs and magazines would also be full of it. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... is good to know that there is another possibility different to a bug. I cannot test it because this PC is a family PC ^^; But anyway, thanks Carlos A. PS: I hope these HD isn't about to die =(

Yes i have noticed that as well People seem to delight in knocking Reiserfs like wise as you know i have been running reiserfs for many years and the only problems i have had have been down to faulty/frelled hard drives and even then it has only been 3 failures in what best part of 10 years ?.. . Yast is far more likley to be the main protagonist in these problems than Reiserfs yast has the manners of a pig on heat at times and i am trying to be polite here dont ask wht i really think it is unprintable .
