It is a bit annoying and I don't know why it has started happening (or quite remember when it started happening) but I'm currently getting two of every email message. Just checked and this is not confined to the mailing list but seems to be all messages. I am using KMail version 4.8.2 on KDE 4.8.2 (opensuse 12.1). Oh and my mail server is dovecot2. I don't know if anyone knows what is going on and can help but would be very grateful for any suggestions. Same here. Not all but some 20% of the messages are duplicates. Sometimes I have three of the same. Kmail 4.8.2 on KDE 4.8.2. POP or IMAP? Using local filters?
That's a good question. I sent messages from my gmail account to my sky account which uses pop and directly to my dovecot server which is imap. I received only one of each message. However, since then I have received duplicate emails from the opensuse list which comes via my sky account. I use dovecot to access my sky account. Yes I have local filters set for handling the opensuse mail (which has given me an idea). Will
In my case it is only Pop. All email is entering the local folder and then moved by the filter to other folders. Duplicates are found in all of these subfolders. Have not catched any in the local folder. -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 12.1 (i586) Kernel: 3.3.2-20-desktop KDE Development Platform: 4.8.2 (4.8.2) "release 494") 00:03am up 1:01, 3 users, load average: 0.70, 0.44, 0.64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

POP or IMAP? Using local filters?
This a known problem. I've mentioned in either this or the KDEPIM list that if you turn stop the filter working automatically on incoming mail and you run the filter manually on emails selected, you won't get duplicates any more· Its the auto operation that seem s to cause the duplication. Kmail2 seems to deal with the duplicated email by deleting it automatically when you click on the duplicate. Its been reported on bugs.kde.org on 2011-08-15 (Bug 280154) but its status is still "NEW"

Thanks. Following Will's hint I did try deleting all my filters and sure enough, the duplication stopped. I guess I'll just have to live with it until someone gets around to fixing it. You don't have to delete your filters, Select each filter in turn and :- 1. Click the "Advanced" tab 2. Untick "Apply this filter to incoming messages" 3. Tick "Add this filter to the "Apply Filter Menu" 4. Tick "Additionally add this filter to the tool bar" Now once all emails have finished coming into the inbox, select all of them with "Ctrl + A" and then click each filter that now appears on your toolbar. Works well for me with no duplicates or having to manually move the messages to the correct folder.

Thanks I've followed your suggestion which seems to work well. However, I use Ctrl+J to apply all the filters at once. Eddie -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
