Re: [SLE] Squid on Novell Kernel
Ken, Novell owns SUSE. I see it being a pretty relevant place to post the question, along w/ Novell specific forums. As for replying to just the list, everyone has their own preference, and it's pretty damn hard to keep track of who wants a reply to the list and who wants a post to the list and themselves, so I always do both. If you know of a solution to changing peoples preference to one way or the other, I'm all ears.. Ryan

Ok. Wouldn't you be better off asking on a "Novell" list? This list is for SuSE linux. Also, please do not top post and ONLY reply to the list as I and others on this list don't need two copies of your reply. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Not really. It's like asking a Chevy dealer about the options available on a Saturn. I'm sure if anyone here knows they'll gladly tell you, but it's not what we use. Jeff

Not really. Whether Novell owns SUSE isn't the point. This list is suse specific. The odds of finding someone that runs both here aren't that great. That's not to say there aren't. I also just went over to the squid website, and couldn't find any reference to running it on a novell system. Mostly linux/bsd and solaris. Someone did compile it though for windows. It is true that Novell owns SuSE but as the list name implies this list is suse-linux-e which means it is devoted to people running SuSE linux and also that this is an english speaking list. As for posting to the list or the poster if the email is from the list reply to the list. The only way to post to this list is by belonging to the list, so replying to the list gives that person a copy. If they send email directly to you, not the list, then reply directly to them. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
