My CTX 17" monitor together with my Matrox Millenium support a custom refresh rate of up to 85.00Hz ... under windoze9x/NT However under Linux it defects to an uncomfortable/dissapointing 70.50 Does anybody know how to tweak this to what I know to work and is more comfortable for my eyes? Wow, I had exactly the opposite happen---i.e., way better refresh rates under Xfree86. Run SaX, and put in the correct monitor refresh rates (from you monitor manual), and it should pick a decently high one. chris - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

In SAX, under Monitor/Expert there is a way to set the sync ranges of the monitor. Just set it to 80-85. You could also just try to do it directly in XF86config, but I always use SAX or XF86Setup because it will test it before writing the new config file. That may prevent some damage. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
