you can use rsync or even a few scripts should do it. On Fri, 11 Dec 1998, Ted Maciag wrote:

Yeh , just copy disk one to a dir , I dont lnow what you will do with the other 4 disks. Just reun yast with the install form directory option. Its just like a NFS install , only in a directroy , you can use this methode if you dont have a cdrom drive. At 11:14 PM 12/11/1998 -0500, you wrote:

Dear SuSE people, As some of you may know I contacted SuSE tech support for a video fix for my Matrox Millenium G200 AGP card to work with the video install on Star Office 5.0. The Star company has generated a fix for the S3 virge chipsets, but nothing for the Matrox. A minor problem is the existeence of libc files on SuSE 5.3 which can be fixed using a temporary "export" statement, I forget the format right now. Anyway I hope to hear from Star Division fairly soon with a fix for the video on my Matrox Card... If anyone has heard anything more please drop me a line.... Richard N. Hinton R-Hinton@govst.edu

Sounds like a problem writing the files (file permissions?) or maybe a window manager problem. I doubt this is the video card. Rick

Glad to hear that SO5 is working. For me, I am tired of playing with it.. I suspect it will be fixed in whatever way by SuSE 6.0, which I have already reserved.... OK, I'll re-phrase the question. I'm looking to mirror servers in a corporate environment. To expand: I have a large net of 60 hosts that talk to my corporate server. The corporate serever is the one that I wish to mirror. Mirroring in this case means; if the primary server goes down the secondary server takes over. True mirroring of services not just copying some data. TIA folks. -ted Ted Maciag wrote:

There is a howto on linux HA systems on the sunsite. But if it is that important -- why not use IBM AIX HACMP??? The concept is: you have two nodes (one in production, the other in standby mode). If the production node fails --> the other "awakes" from stanby mode and takes over. The nodes can even share disks. -alexm - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>

Take a look at RSF-1 for Linux: <A HREF="http://www.rsi.co.uk/products/rsf/rsf-linux.html"><A HREF="http://www.rsi.co.uk/products/rsf/rsf-linux.html</A">http://www.rsi.co.uk/products/rsf/rsf-linux.html</A</A>> The price is quoted at 1500 pounds Sterling per node, two nodes minimum - which makes it significantly less than HACMP for AIX ($20,000 per node, two nodes minimum). For a true HA environment to work, ALL the services/data must be on external disk drives attached to both systems. TIA folks.
