[opensuse] With KDE 4.4, how do I cause an app to run at login?
All, I've been using SpiderOak for offsite backups for the last 6 weeks or so. It's doing great on my fileservers where I have it run via cron once a day (night). (I do notice some issues, but not bugs.) But on my workstation I want it to run in automatic mode whenever I'm logged in. But I don't know where to set that. fyi: I did spend a couple minutes googling, but got lost in the clutter of messages not discussing this. Under KDE Personal Settings, the Startup and Shutdown module enables setting a program or script to execute either just before KDE is started ("Pre-KDE") or immediately after KDE is loaded ("Startup"). Or, with the Task Scheduler module, a cron entry can be created which will be executed with each system boot, prior to calling the DE. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You got me most of the way. I found it via: kde menu - applications - configure desktop - advanced - autostart - Add Program - Internet - SpiderOak Backup Easy! Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That's the correct path in KDE 4.4. dwgallien's advice applies to the reorganised 4.5 Personal Settings (systemsettings) modules. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
