[SLE] GURU help most appreciated: "modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-108"
I've posted this problem before but didn't get any answers. I run SuSE 6.3, kernel 2.2.13. Whenever i start ppp i get the above message in xconsole. I did not get the message when I used 6.0 and 6.1. I use a minimalistic kernel (370 kb) whith almost everything modularized. Ppp works fine, so this is probably not a problem, just an annoyance. I do not have any char-major-108 entry in /etc/conf.modules. Is there any Guru assistance out there? The handling of ppp is changing so that now a ppp device exists which is char-major-108. I added alias char-major-108 ppp to my conf.modules although as I understand it this is a temporary fix that will require updating when the final ppp is released. /Michael -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Thanks, Michael! It fixed it, so IMHO you have achieved Guru status. Anders
