Hey, Anyone planning on installing the newly-released KDE 3.0.2 on SuSE 7.3, keep in mind that the QT3 RPMs are built without anti-aliasing support. And you're not given a choice in the matter. This because of some kind of bug it causes with XFree86 4.0.1. I found this out the hard way when I upgraded everything to KDE 3.0.2 including the QT3 packages... only to restart KDE and find my desktop looking horribly jagged. As a user of XFree86 4.0.2, this is extremely irritating. Of course, rather than get people to upgrade their X server another .0.1 level, we all get hosed instead. Who's upgrading KDE but not their X server? You'll need to rebuild QT3 from the source package, changing the build.sh and qt3.spec files so they allow Xft. Sitting here waiting for my rebuild of the RPM to finish... Hoping I remember not to trust the QT3 packages for SuSE next time.
