[opensuse] repodata
Anyone know what is going on with the standard opensuse repos? I am getting this error for both the oss and non-oss repositories: File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/non-oss/' The url is the one that comes directly from the opensuse website. Checking on that side, the folder /repodata does not exist. This is the 2nd day in a row I have seen this error and not been able to refresh my repositories. -- George Box: 42.3 | KDE Plasma 5.8 | AMD Phenom IIX4 | 64 | 32GB Laptop #1: 42.3 | Gnome 3.20 | AMD FX 7TH GEN | 64 | 32GB Laptop #2: 42.3 | Gnome 3.20 | Core i5 | 64 | 8GB -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
This was also reported on forums. For some reason some users apparently have wrong repository type (repo-md instead of yast2). It is possible that both types of metadata were available in the past, I never paid attention. My leap has and always had yast2 type. Отправлено с iPhone

So I have deleted and added the repositories in question, this time adding the option -t yast2 to the zypper ar command. Is opensuse's new standard for setting up repositories to make them yast2 type? It seems it would have to be new, because up until a few days ago, these repositories regularly refreshed without a problem, and I had not made any changes to my repository configuration.

This must be something else. All my repos are rpm-md and all just refreshed just fine (as of now), e.g. grep 'rpm-md' *.repo adobe.repo:type=rpm-md cinelerra.repo:type=rpm-md devtools.repo:type=rpm-md download.opensuse.org-non-oss_1.repo:type=rpm-md download.opensuse.org-oss_1.repo:type=rpm-md gnomeapps.repo:type=rpm-md graphics.repo:type=rpm-md kde.repo:type=rpm-md packman.repo:type=rpm-md publish.repo:type=rpm-md repo-debug-update.repo:type=rpm-md susetools.repo:type=rpm-md videolan.repo:type=rpm-md x11wm.repo:type=rpm-md xllutl.repo:type=rpm-md -- David C. I thought that was for TW, not Leap. Anyway I forgot to mention that leaving out the type line had no effect. Zypper was totally ignoring this particular repo, until I spelled .repo correctly. :-p -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Whatever else you get, get wisdom." Felix, They rebuild cinelerra quite often and what I've found is that when they are building, the repo is offline. It was working when I posted a few hours again. The full repo contents I have are: $ cat cinelerra.repo [cinelerra] enabled=1 autorefresh=1 baseurl=https://cinelerra-cv.org/five/pkgs/leap/ type=rpm-md keeppackages=1 -- David C. Looking at my leap42-2 installation, the oss and non-oss repos are yast2, the update ditto are rpm-md. Same for a leap42-3 test vm. Possibly surprising - on leap15, all repos are rpm-md. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (12.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Normally it's not necessary, it autodetects metadata format.
Is opensuse's new standard for setting up repositories to make them yast2 type?
As mentioned already, rpm-md is new default.

The /suse sub-directory holds repo-md metadata. So http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/non-oss/ - yast2 http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/non-oss/suse/ - repo-md If you are using btrfs you may consider comparing configuration in previous snapshots at the time when repository access worked. It almost looks like zypper decides to change configuration by itself. If you can prove it (by showing previous correct configuration) bug report is in order. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, interesting. I am not using btrfs though, so no way to know for sure. Well at least I can get the updates again.
