MySQL upgrade to 4.0.12 gives me troubles
I have upgraded MySQL to 4.0.12 into /usr/local/mysql (binary version from www.mysql.org) It works with the new / converted databases fine with the command mysql, but when I try to access via a web site (php) I get a access denied. I have not changed password, and again with mysql I can connect to the server. I made some tests: mysqladmin --protocol=socket --socket=/tmp/mysql.sock version I get protocol socket unknown Other tests are going well, like mysqladmin -h localhost version but mysqladmin -h IP# version gives me the same error. My /etc/my.cnf has socket and port numbers defined.
