[opensuse] Memtest version
The version of memtest, included with 15.1, does not work with UEFI drives. I downloaded the proper version and installed it on a USB stick and it works fine. Will the version included with 15.2 work with UEFI? Given that the world is moving to it, I fail to see the point in keeping a version that doesn't work with newer computers. Perhaps both versions could be provided and selected as appropriate. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Exactly which version is that, downloaded from where?

I wouldn't expect so. TW is still using the same memtest86+ version as 13.2 and all releases since. In the TW version, last changelog entry was 20 months ago. All changelog entries since 2013 appear to be about resolving issues in building it as build tools evolve. I use memtest86 7.4 for UEFI PCs, big difference. https://www.memtest86.com/ -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks! I have 8.2 from the same site, though I see 8.3 is available now. I have, for years, installed memtest so that it's available on the grub menu. It would be nice to be able to do that again. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Too bad TW isn't still using valgrind 3.12 - at least then user allocations would still be reported correctly :) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
