And I'm fed up of Netscape putting my replies to the poster not the list. Sorry Jan... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: NEW JDK RELEASE! Hi Ekkehard,
I get the same error in SuSE 6.2. SuSE 6.2 has glibc2.1.1 iinstead of the supported glibc2.1.2 so maybe it's the same problem on your box (installation). If not, I would be interested to get some information about running JDK1.2.2 on a glibc2.1.1 system.
This is pissing me off. This is why source distribution of applications are the only worthwhile ones, we can't be having with all these bloody binary incompatibilities because someone can't be arsed to type make. Think I might give Debian a spin in VMWare... Anyone have any insights into putting glibc2.1.2 onto SuSE 6.2? I know it's already running multiple libcs - eg: support for libc5 still, so something should be possible to stick 2.1.2 on the other end. -- Rachel -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Click on "Replay All" instead of "Reply". Teah, I've been there too 8( JV -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

This is a function of SuSE, not Netscape. Two years ago, this list worked like other lists, but then it changed. I don't remember why. I just click on the recipient, and type suse and it goes to the right place. -- George Toft http://www.georgetoft.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

This is sensible, George. We had lots of trouble with bouncing mail, that came back to the list. Changing that behaviour, the bounces come back to the poster (like me having a few notifications about a fellow that failed to pop his mail recently) and not to the list. I think later the list was closed to subscribers posting only, in what case "postmaster@foo.bar" won't be able to post into the list. Anyway, I do not have the problem, even with netscape. My replies go straight to the list. A kind soul posted a .procmailrc "rule" that "corrects" the from or reply to field: # changing the reply to field for the suse-linux-e list... :0f * ^X-Mailinglist: suse-linux-e | formail -bfi "Reply-To: SuSE Linux English <suse-linux-e@suse.com>" don't ask me about it, I just know it works. I see. You are modifying the mail during delivery. Very clever. -- George Toft http://www.georgetoft.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
