Re: [SLE] SuSE 6.4 & Apache problem
No no, the problem is elsewhere. I also tried this, and there is no change. It's very strange. I did exactly the same as with my old 6.1, and it worked well... -----Message d'origine----- De : T. I have a problem with Apache in the version 6.4 of the SuSE. I can't create virtual hosts. The access to the files is always denied: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server.
I created following tree: /home/www/site/pages /home/www/site/pages/index.html /home/www/site/logs
Try to make a chown as chown wwwrun.nogroup -R /home/www/site. This will make the dir site and subfolders belong to the user wwwrun. Then you (and anybody) can access the files Koray -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Well, never mind. A friend told me the solution. I forgot this small but important detail: the owner & group of: -the html pages root directory (here /home/www/site) -its parent directory (here /home/www) must be _the same_, with group & world read access if the owner is not wwwrun. -- Christophe Greisberger Home: christophe@zenon-media.com Work: greisberger@zenon-media.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
