[SLE] Mount points & Samba Sharing - SuSE v6.3 & Samba 2.0.6
Round 2 .... Ding! I have a second hard drive on my server which is mounted to a directory located in "/" and shared via Samba. Although I can see, browse and copy from it through Net neighborhood on my NT box I cannot write, delete or move anything on or to it. I have read through as many docs as I can tolerate so, If anyone has had this problem and can give me a clue I would appreciate it. Details of setup and config below: made dir -> mkdir hdisk2 chmod 777 /hdisk2 (per example config doc, Samba and SuSE admin book) smb.conf entry: [hdisk2] path = /hdisk2 comment = lnxsrv hard disk 2 browseable = yes public = yes create mode = 0750 read only = no this dir is mounted at boot using fstab with a vfat filesystem and the disk is an old HD which was formatted as fat32 and still has win95b on it. I am not trying to boot win95 just want to be able to write to it and modify existing files from my NT box. I have not wiped it nor do I believe I should have to using samba to be the middleware between NTFS and a Fat32 file system ... correct?
