OT: How to use grep/sed/?? to find end of lines
Hi, I have a text file about 20 characters wide (sometimes a lot more sometimes a lot less) and I want to change the line to about 70 characters. Any hints would be appreciated, as the man pages for sed/grep are rather terse. Thanks in advance Rod -- 100% Linux Only genuine Linux tools were used in the generation and posting of this email.
If you mean make all line at a specific lenght??
You may compile this little program I used for when I had the problem,
Just edit the line her for lenght, now it is for 131 cp.
for(i = lg; i < 131 ; i++) putchar(' ') ;
Best wish from Tage in Denmark.
