I'm in the process of ripping my CD collection using grip. Up front I should mention that I'm using HAL to automatically mount DVDS, usb, etc. Right now I'm using /dev/hdb, an AT drive, to read the CDs. In the grip configuration, the read drive is /dev/cdrom, which works fine. I would like to use my usb CD burner in addition, using --device modifier to grip, which would make the whole process go faster. I thought I could use /dev/sr0, but grip doesn't see that. What should I be using for the usb device? -- Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing. -- Wernher von Braun

sr0, basically. But it also might be sr1, or sr2. Best is to look into /dev/disk/by-id/ Jan Engelhardt --
