[opensuse] Rotating mp4 video clip
Hi All, I have an mp4 video clip which needed rotating, so I used: ffmpeg -i in.mp4 -vf "transpose=1" out.mp4 and it was correctly rotated (at least, vlc plays out.mp4 rotated correctly.) Now, however, when posted to a popular social media site, said site applies a further rotation. It seems there must be some metadata in the file which ffmpeg leaves untouched, and vlc ignores, but the aforementioned web site acts upon. I've checked with easytag and kid3, but they only show artist/title etc... Where should I look next to fix this? This is an interesting question. I cannot help but these may help to find the answer: Topic: Write Rotation tag in MPEG4 http://u88.n24.queensu.ca/exiftool/forum/index.php?topic=5442.0 See the answer part. Rotate a MP4 file, while preserving codec and quality attributes http://superuser.com/questions/82117/rotate-a-mp4-file-while-preserving-code... See comment by vitiko.
