Can't install with official DVD
I'm sorry if this is the wrong list for that kind of question, but I really don't want to subscribe to suse-linux-e just to ask about this simple matter. I've downloaded the official DVD image. Checked the MD5SUM, and it's ok. But when I try to install on a VMware machine, it still complains about the "No catalog found". I've generated another DVD using makeSUSEdvd and it work perfectly. Any other complains about the official DVD not working? -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net

did you verify the disk _after_ writing it? may be the media is bad jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

Didn't write to any media. It's VMware, so I'm installing using the ISO directly from my HD. -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net

You can still check the md5 hash of the iso file that it matches: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/non-oss-dvd-iso/MD5SUMS Peter 'Pflodo' Flodin

He did that, as he stated in the original mail: "I've downloaded the official DVD image. Checked the MD5SUM, and it's ok." Sven

I am sorry, but it still is off-topic. It is even worse, because you KNOW that you are doing something wrong. Other people are asked to keep this list free from technical questions. So why would an exception be made for you. All the other people have the same excuse as you do. -- houghi http://houghi.org http://www.plainfaqs.org/linux/ http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html
Today I went outside. My pupils have never been tinier...

Sorry, houghi, but this isn't a technical question. As you can see, I've asked if it has been already reported, and that I solved my own problem using your script. So no technical question here, just asking if the problem really exists and if the available media is reported to be bad. I'm worried, nothing else. Anyway, I'm sorry if I've been inconvenient. -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net
