-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I just checked the SuSE hardware compat. database, and it was of NO use at all! 'Can't even do a search on "digital cameras." Well, I can but the search provides no data. Does anyone know where there's a list of digital cameras (USB) that DO work with SuSE 7.3? Thanks, Fred - -- Fred A. The 'gphoto' docs might be a good place to start looking. Take a look at the camera database at gPhoto http://www.gphoto.org/cameras.html There is 162 cameras in the list. I have been using gPhoto with SuSE for a while now (with my sister's Kodak DC240), and it works fine. Later Clayton

Yes, that's probably the best place to look. I'm not sure why there aren't any in the SDB though. Also, if the camera uses standard CF memory you can buy a pcmcia card reader for about $10. I use that for my Cannon and I like it much more than gphoto since it behaves just like an IDE disk so you can use the normal command line tools on it. -- -ckm

I have found it quite effective to simply use the SanDisk compact flash reader, thereby allowing me to use whatever camera I want. modprobe usb-storage mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /compactflash (or whatever mount point you want) *************************************************** Powered by SuSE Linux 7.2 Professional KDE 2.1.2 KMail 1.2 Bryan S. http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdevcat.php?id=10 (also http://www.linux-usb.org/) Look for "Navigation" on this page. There are lots more cameras than you might think at first glance. JDL
