If you have a pnp card, you should download the isapnp tools (unless your distribution comes with it ie. SuSE, rh, Caldera). Read up on how to find out your pnp settings, and how to configure your sound modules (assuming your card is sound blaster compatible). Run you pnp configure as the instructions say, then install your sound module... You will hear a pop as you do wwhen you first turn your computer on... ... I'll make a step-by-step list if you need it...
