It works here (OS 11.3, texlive-2009-12.11). Does /usr/bin/xdvi-xaw3d exist?

No, it doesn't. Cnf claims it should be part of texlive. I tried
reinstalling texlive from the online repository, with no luck.

/usr/bin/xdvi-xaw3d is a symlink to /usr/lib/texmf/bin/i586-linux/xdvi- xaw3d, which belongs to texlive-bin-2009-12.11. Is this installed?

Yes, thanks, that one is. I made the symlink manually in /usr/bin, and my xdvi started working. Myrosia -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Just run as root pushd / for script in $(rpmqpack | grep texlive-bin); do script=$(rpm -q --triggerscripts $script) eval bash ${script##*.} done popd SuSEconfig --module texlive thisw should do the jobs which should have been done at installation time of the texlive and texlive-bin packages. Just for testing purposes, I got rid of the symlink I established
manually, and the command you suggested. I copied and pasted it into a
text file and run "sh myscript" as root. It did say that it was
updating the system in texlive, but it didn't solve the problem, the
link was not restored.
