[SuSE Linux] KSCD, KDE1.1, Linux 2.2.2
Does anybody have their KSCD workin under kernel 2.2.2 & KDE 1.1? Mine is falkey. I would love to know if anybody either has this working or has had the same problem I have. It would help me greatly in troubleshooting this. The problems are that kscd will not interact with the CD-ROM drive unless I have touched it with another program. If I mount /cdrom with a music CD in the drive the it tries to mount but fails. I can then access the drive to play music. I can never get the darn thing to eject. TIA, Steve - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>

IIRC, you have to remove the configuration file: rm ~/.kde/share/config/kscdrc It should work afterwards. Lenz, Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I had already tried that. I double checked to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. It works just fine under 2.0.36. I just tried it on the same box with the same KDE install. I does not work under 2.2.2. Perhaps there is something wrong with my kernel configureation. I also get an error during boot saying that it cant find char-major-4. (or something reall close to that.) That, I believe, is a serial port.
