And make sure the process has actually started rcwebmin start or rcwebmin restart -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (5.2)
Jack, Just run ./setup.sh in the webmin dir. /usr/libexec/webmin It will install and then you can log in and update it. Suc6 GJ Jack Malone wrote:

I'm using webmin-1.130 donloaded from the webmin site with SuSE apache2. Check that httpd is running, some folk here reported a problem where they had to rmove librecode.so* in order to get apache to start. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

I couldn't get the suse installed version to work either. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. After that the /etc/webmin directory was empty. I went to the webmin.com site and tried installing the RPM. It did not recognize Suse 9.1. I went back to the webmin site and got the tar.gz file. It installed and asked about the OS being used. After that I was able to connect via port :10000. see the following page for links and instructions: http://www.webmin.com/download.html
