May I ask a general question.
In which /sbin/init.d file do you load your kernel modules? I am trying to load the ncr53c8xx module and have not yet found the correct file to do it in. I have tried it in boot.local, boot.setup, and boot without success. insmod ncr53c810 works fine from the command line. Yes I have included the correct data in /etc/conf.modules.
TIA wayne
Yes, I found the answer 5 minutes after I asked! Mistake 1: in boot or boot.setup or boot.local the path has not been set yet so use /sbin/insmod not just insmod! duh.... Mistake 2: If you put something into one of the init.d files, make sure that that file is called in the run level you are using. Very dumb mistake! boot.local is NOT called in any of the run levels! dah2........ Sorry to bother the list.
