I've just installed SuSE 8.0. I'm interested in all s/w packages available on SuSE installation kit and from the network. Particularly I'm looking for tools for plotting (version 7.3 had "kpl" ), tools for solving algebraic as well as Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, tools for dealing with stochastic and deterministic simulations. Could you please help me with the selection of the right s/w packages rather than wildly installing everything ??? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Maura E.M.

You may want to try octave and scilab. If you are rich enough I think there is Matlab for Unix too. Praise
Mupad is also nice.
