[SLE] bootp-server and 2.2-kernel
Hi! I have a question. I am trying to get Suse6.3 to act as a bootp-server for a computer without a hard-disc, but have some problems. The client sends its request to 255.255.255.255 and this seem to create some problems. I can see the packets with tcpdump, but bootp can not see them (nor act on them.) I have tried dhcpd with the same results. So the 255.255.255.255-packets seem to be eaten up somewhere... If I change the kernel to a 2.0-kernel everything starts working (the only thing changed is the kernel.) I.e. this seem to be a kernel-specific problem, so what have changed between 2.0 and 2.2 that does not let 255.255.255.255-packets thrugh? Is there a file in the /proc-directory that can change this behaviour? Thanks for any ideas! /Lars -- Lars E Pettersson | Chalmers University of Technology d8lars@dtek.chalmers.se | Gothenburg, SWEDEN -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
