SuSE 8.1 HELP - How do you disable mouse search on bootup?

Hello there I'm running SuSE 8.1 on a Netserver that won't (usually) have a keyboard nor mouse plugged in. My problem is that after startup, SuSE will default to "Scanning for hardware devices on bootup" and ask me to select the type of mouse I have. I've told it "NONE" and checked /etc/sysconfig/mouse to make sure that the settings took, but whenever I restart, it will prompt me (again) for the type of mouse I use. I checked /etc/sysconfig/hotplug thinking it might be pnp-related but no luck. I also uninstalled gpm. Is there any way to disable this behaviour? This did not happen in 7.3. If you disable the hardware scan at boot time, that will do it, I certainly do this on all my servers. insserv -r hwscan -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1).
