[opensuse] virtualbox extra (usb 2.0)
Hello, I try to connect my garmin gps to vitualbox (windows), but it needs the extension pack. Infos found on the web are all outdated and links broken. How can I install the extension pack for normal openSUSE Virtualbox version? I have the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.1.22-115126 downloaded (and the version matches), but there is no installer. May I simply copy the file and where? thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

found the trick. You have to launch virtualbox, go to "file", "preference", extension and there find the downloaded file. I didn't find it at first because the instruction said "clic on the file" but the file did not execute on opensuse thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Or you can simply use VBoxManage to install the extpack, e.g. $ sudo VBoxManage extpack install --replace Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.1.4-74291.vbox-extpack -- David C. Yup, its amazing what you can do with VMs at the command line. Its one of the best documented VM platforms around. I've probably paid for my LAST VMware Workstation Renewal. I've paid for multiple seats for years, but VirtualBox does everything I need these days. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I know that, I once managed several remote ones, but sniffing the right syntax is time consuming (at that time the history file was a great help :-) there are even command line to do what the GUI can't jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
