[opensuse] Yast Mail Tranfer Agent doesn't update relayhost in main.cf of Postfix
Hi, I'm using openSuse 11 and I use sendmail as the transport agent of my e-mail client: KMail. In previous openSuSE versions, Yast MTA writed the name of the relayhost in the main.cf file of Postfix. Now is not doing it. I had to copy all Postfix config files from the 10.3 installation for Postfix work as it worked: delivering my e-mail throughout a external SMTP server. After that copy, I tried to changed the name of the relayserver in 11 with Yast and it did write a new name in main.cf. I'm I doing something wrong or it's a bug? -- Regards, Lívio Cipriano -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

So, are you using Sendmail or Postfix?

Can't say, I suspect you have altered main.cf manually sometime before trying to change the relayhost in yast. Afterwards Yast will not touch the Postfix config files. -- Sandy List replies only please! Postfix.

In fact, long ago, I changed the limit of the e-mail messages. -- Regards, Lívio Cipriano -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
I think it's a bug. I just setup a system the other day. My ISP at home blocks port 25 so for programs to use the "mail" command to send mail you must relay through a server not on port 25. I set it up in Yast and surprisingly it just worked, including the authentication. If all you use is Kmail why dont you set it to talk directly to the SMTP server? Cause I've a Hylafx server and I want to receive the e-mail messages form it, so I have to have a SMTP server in my host. Lívio -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
