[opensuse] Video clips on a specific site -- Firefox vs Opera
The site <http://jpost.com>, like many other news-oriented sites, carries some items in the form of video clips, and these clips are provided by an outside contractor. I am unable to view these clips on Firefox (v3.0.14), although there is no problem with Opera, so I know that the problem is not one of an exotic video format unsupported in Linux (that was the case, BTY, with the previous provider for this site). I can see video clips on other news sites. A telephone call to the provider in hopes of learning what is preventing FF from seeing the clips elicited only the information that "everything looks OK from here", which was not helpful. I do not know what format is used for these clips. but I have enabled JavaScript for the relevant sites; FF has the Shockwave Flash 10.0 r32 plugin, enabled for swf and spl. The symptom in FF is that I can see only the black rectangle where images should be, and the Start icon does nothing. I would be grateful for any advice or comment. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
