Well, this is weird. I can see people's replies to my question about MySQL, but I never got my original email back. I checked my gmail account, it didn't filter it out, but I can't find my email anywhere on my computer. It didn't get filtered, it's just not here. I'm really curious to see if I get to see this email. --andy -- Alex Lowe's 3 Rules for Climbing: 1 - Come Back Alive! 2 - Come Back Still Friends With Your Partners! 3 - Get To The Top!

Hi, I guess it is a list's rule not to send the mail to the original sender. I do not get mine either. But gmail is good, it threads them ok with the responses. Also, I have configured my kmail to put all send and received mails from/to lists.suse.com in one folder, and it threads them as well. So check your send mail folder. At least my mails are there :) Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85

How are you sure. I mean, I see only one copy in the inbox thread. And when open "More options", this is the copy I sent, not the one I received from the list. Or I do mistake in interpreting what I see? Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85

Yes, I *am* sure that I am using gmail and I *am* sure that I receive the list posting that * make. I can look at the headers and I sort incoming mail via procmail into folders. There is *no* doubt. The difference is probably that I compose and send mail from my own computer with a gmail return address rather than using gmail's compost. I like the convenience of being able to access the gmail account from anywhere, but not being required to do so. The remote storage is also a factor. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

I think this a gmail thing. gmail is very good at deleting duplicate e-mails, so if someone forgets to delete your address from the to line and you would normally get 2 copies, gmail only shows you one copy. I'm pretty sure it also eliminates inbound e-mails that are simply copies of what it sent. Anyway, ever since I moved to gmail I don't get copies of my list mail. It is a little annoying not being positive a mail went out, but blame gmail, not the list. FYI: I'm on several lists, and gmail affects them all the same. You can get it somewhere at http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/ For your info, your email has the header: X-Message-Number-for-archive: 230869 With that number, you can retrieve a copy by emailing to suse-linux-e-get.230869 at suse

But we can't help. We can not see your logs, you configuration, your isp, suse server logs... Some times qmail says it can not send you one or more emails, and cancels it. Later, a week or so, you receive a "probe". You can learn about this in this list FAQ (Q8). -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

I get mine back. Perhaps its a signup option. Gmail also seems to suppress your own postings for you, if they find it in the sent mail box. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
