Hello SuSE and apt-get folk, I don't run gnome, but I know there are a lot of packages that depend on Gnome libraries or whatever. I would like to get rid of all of the Gnome stuff that I can without brealing things like GQview, Synaptic, etc. Can someone provide me with a list of what I can get rid of safely? Sorry, don't mean to offend you Gnome folk out there. I just like KDE better. Bob S.

GQview, GIMP, Synaptic, Gaim (compiled without Gnome support) and many other programs are just GTK software. They require glib and GTK only most of the time. So I would fire up YaST2 and see what it lets you remove from the Gnome section. It has good dep checking so it won't in all likelihood let you screw yourself. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
