[opensuse] Baghira...help
Hello, could anyone tell me(newbie) which libraries and headers are needed in OpenSuse 10.3 in order to install it. I get: checking for KDE... configure: error: in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix! doing ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` --disable-debug which I saw it here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8692 Thanks in advance. ___________________________________________________________ Χρησιμοποιείτε Yahoo!; Βαρεθήκατε τα ενοχλητικά μηνύματα (spam); Το Yahoo! Install the package that has a name similar to KDE development. the YaST software manager has a search function. search for devel, and then scroll down to the package names that begin with kde and check them. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Just out of curiosity... are your users that stupid that if they can't find an apple, they will be so totally confused that they'll never figure out how to adapt to Linux? Imitating another system is one thing...trying to duplicate it right down to trivial, vendor-specific icons is, well, quite pointless....and in many ways, "hiding" the fact that they're working on Linux is a real disservice to Linux -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
The list I think is not only for old users of linux. If you are so smart and you think that our questions are pointless just unsubscribe from the list!!!!!! If the linux was so easy the list would be unnecessary. And yes I am a windows user and I want to know about linux. --- Aaron Kulkis <akulkis00@hotpop.com> έγραψε:

First of all, please do not top-post. Only bottom-post like we are doing here. Second of all, Aaron asked a very legitimate question, which is "Why do you want an apple?" Instead of looking to pick a fight, how about answering the question. You may have a very legitimate answer, but how are we supposed to know? We are not mind-readers here. And I totally agree with Aaron's statement that hiding Linux is a disservice to Linux. We all work hard as a community to promote and solidify Linux and when someone comes along that wants to use Linux but hide it, is well... an insult. However, again, you may have a VERY legitimate reason for doing it that way. How about just telling us what and why you are attempting to do the things you are doing? Thanks.

Ok :) I got it.I just wanted the top bar and the other elements of the theme to look like a Mac desktop.I am really sorry if that insults the community of linux! But if I wanted a Mac I would buy a new i-Mac. All I wanted is to have a new theme exactly as a Mac.I agree with that argument.I didn't think that way.And I believe you must not think that way.In KDE-looks I think there are more themes! And I did uninstalled it because it didn't worked so well. It's just a theme not an operating system! For me counts what operating system you use... ___________________________________________________________ Χρησιμοποιείτε Yahoo!; Βαρεθήκατε τα ενοχλητικά μηνύματα (spam); Το Yahoo! Not really insult, it is to heavy word. BTW, you are, as a Linux user, part of community.

We are proud to use Linux and there is nothing to hide, but sometimes is good as demonstration to those that never used Linux to start presentation with theme that mimic some well known OS, and than when public shows interest tell what actually it is.
In KDE-looks I think there are more themes! And I did uninstalled it because it didn't worked so well. It's just a theme not an operating system! For me counts what operating system you use...

Oh, yes, I have. During the Apple ][ / Apple ][+ days, I was a very big Apple fan. Then, at a pre-relaese demonstration, an Apple rep came to Purdue and demonstrated the first Macintosh. UGH! They were turning the computer into nothing more than an appliance! And basically, yes, the type of people who are die-hard Mac users are people who want to do nothing more than click a button...and don't even want to have a choice of buttons, because there is ONLY ONE....like a car with only a gas pedal, but no brake! That the company has come to rely upon these people with that sort of mentality -- and their willingness to pay PREMIUM prices to get such creativity-limiting schlock, has basically turned me against Apple. I will concede that they finally made a GOOD decision my moving from the complete-chaos of cooperative multitasking to a BSD kernel But I can't really put up with the products from a company which panders to people who are not only ignorant, but also know it and are proud of it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
