problem installing ULB Gnome on 64 bit
On an AMD64 system with suse 9.1 I am trying to install the new gnome packages -- but.... Am I OK to force it, or is this an issue with 64 bit that I am seeing??? _____________________________________________________ niihau:~ # apt-get install ulb-gnome Reading Package Lists... This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. It could be - I'd say don't force - you won't gain much, ulb-gnome is basically a meta package, some wallpapers, menu items, and config scripts. (Being a meta-package means it depends on a bunch of other packages, which themselves comprise GNOME 2.8.x) All those packages it says won't be installed are in the same APT component as ulb-gnome, the point is that whereas ulb-gnome is built for no specific architecture, because it has no executables in it, everything else is built for i586. I don't have a 64bit machine I'm afraid, so I can't build for it. -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org GNOME for SuSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms
