I have installed the GM version and I am now looking what repository I need to add to get the stuff that is on the DVD, but not on the CD's e.g. leafnode. I have looked at several mirrors, but was not able to find where to get this. I udnerstand a lot of mirrors are not yet up to dat, but due to that it is very confusing, because layouts is different from place to place. e.g. when I go to ftp.example.com and (most of the time) to pub, I see sometimes opensuse.com and suse.com, sometomes only opensuse.com and sometimes only suse.com Further up the directory, I sometimes see 10.0/suse where then all the ppc, i368, noarch and so is and sometimes it is devided before. Or should I just wait? houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

OK, we are 24 hours on and I am still not able to get a lot of software installed, especially stuff that is not on the CD's, but is on the FTP site. Simple example. I have added ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/ as an instalation source. It contains the file k3b-arts at ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/suse/i586/k3b-arts-0.12.3-9.i586.rpm I enter k3b-arts in the search in YaST2 and it can not find it. I have tried several other sites and different programs first veryfying they are actally on the server. Frustrating, because createrepo is also one of them. I have added it manually and I have Konquror add the instalation sources. Nothing. Anybody else with the same problem? houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

Yup, here! I try to install opensp-devel via yast, but it cannot find it neither on the opensuse-ftp nor on gwdg. -rauch

Yes i have the same problem, only mine is on the Packman repo and it cannot find some all the kde packages, it lists the i586 ones instead of the x86_64 ones. When i go to the repo directly with ftp it shows they are there. whats up with that. -Cameron

I have similar problems, seems to be an effect of the saturation of the mirrors due the new release ;) I can't even donwload YOU updates for 9.3 :(

It seems to be working now. Strange that it didn't find anything. If the server is out, you get an error. Well, probably indeed something to do with the heavy trafic and the servers I entered were probably busy as well. It is not that easy to enter, so I did not try them all. Could be really nice to have the dat downloaded like a file (like a .torrent does), so you just can click on it and open it with Yast, or have it made easier to just directly enter the whole URL, indead of doing it it three steps, being protocol, sever, url. That already has been discussed. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html
