[opensuse] NTFS write
Welcome, How is the status in SuSe 10.2 about writing to the ntfs filesystem? I tried it. At all levels ( mount, fileprotection) i see write access permitted. But when I try to write something I get "acces denied". The partition is mounted in fstab. /dev/sda6 /mnt/test ntfs rw,users,uid=hans,gid=users,umask=000 0 0 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
The state is poor. To get a good state of NTFS support, you must use the new NTFS-3G driver, which is not included with openSUSE 10.2. There is a feature-request to add it to 10.3. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
To get things worse, I can tell you that FUSE that's included with 10.2 doesn't works with NTFS-3G, so you must build new FUSE drivers first, plus NTFS-3G not supported in Yast. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
