Opened GUI YaST after disabling onboard NIC in BIOS and putting NIC in PCI slot. YaST showed both, so I deleted the disabled one, established correct basic settings for IP address, etc. Then finished. On reboot, I have no network, because init only wants to start eth0. The system has the new NIC on eth1. How do I switch it to eth0? -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. It has been discussed and a solution presented in this forum, but I do not have the post or remember the method. A search of the archives should yeald your answer. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2

In /etc/udev/rules.d/30-net* and remove the lines for the non existent cards. Answer found at: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=116948#c1 -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
