[opensuse] non executing partition
Hello :-) I have a problem that become annoying. I use for part of my data a /local/data mounted partition (very large). Since the install of 11.4, I can't execute anything on this partition. Executable files are simply not executables there. I know it's possible to make a partition not executable, but I don't see how this happen and so I don't know how to revert it. here is the relevant part of my /etc/fstab: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD1001FAES-60Z2A0_WD-WCATR1443583-part7 / ext4 acl,user_xattr 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD1001FAES-60Z2A0_WD-WCATR1443583-part9 /local/data ext4 user,acl,user_xattr 1 2 as far as I can see, the /local/data partition have options very like the / one (where of course I can execute) any clue? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.youtube.com/user/jdddodinorg http://jdd.blip.tv/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You are using the "user" option and man 8 mount shows: [...] user Allow an ordinary user to mount the filesystem. The name of the mounting user is written to mtab so that he can unmount the filesystem again. This option implies the options noexec, nosuid, and nodev (unless overridden by subsequent options, as in the option line user, exec, dev, suid). I always did :-( and man 8 mount shows:
[...] user Allow an ordinary user to mount the filesystem. The name of the mounting user is written to mtab so that he can unmount the filesystem again.
