Q1. How would I find out what exactly is compiled into the kernel?. Is
there a way to see the individual modules with a program in the X-server?
There is a .config file in your linux directory which should show what was compiled in the last time it was built. If you do mrproper before running xconfig or whatever, you will revert to a default kernel configuration and won't get to see what is in your present kernel.
Doh! Sorry. I kind of skated around that issue altogether...is the .config file from the lx_suse.rpm the actual .config that SuSE used for our stock (eide_01) kernel, though? Or is it actually the .config from the standard tree? -=|JP|=- (Resident GNUbie) Jon Pennington | SuSE Linux 6.0 jon_pennington@excite.com | Kernel 2.2.10 Kansas City, Missouri, USA | K6-2 350 _______________________________________________________ Get your free, private email at <A HREF="http://mail.excite.com/</A">http://mail.excite.com/</A> -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
