[opensuse] can't access external USB HD
Hi, I need to copy something back from an encrypted external USB disk, but my leap 42 laptop does not see this disk. I tried with another one, and it doesn't see it neither. The inly thing I found while googling is to type "lsusb" and there is no difference whether I stick in the USB cable or not. One external disk is an encrypted reiserfs. The other one is a Windows-FS (I guess NTFS). I can read the windows-Disk easyly on a windows machine. Windows also recognizes when I stick in the encrypted one, but of course it cannot access it (doesn't know reiser). Anyway, both disks are seen on that windows thing, but not on my laptop. Using the same cables. They blink when I stick them in but nothing else happens... Any ideas? Thanks for your help. As I was dealing for the test with a windows thing I remembered that often when something did not work one had to reboot. As I am on a linux I forgot about that, but as the times are changing: I rebooted and - wow - the external disks are here just as they should. Sorry for the noise...
