So I have upgrading several packages and the kernel. I installed the new kernel (2.2.17) from source. (no rpm) I am now trying to upgrade the ppp package (needed for the avm capi stuff). pider:/home/hferinga # rpm -i ppp-2.3.11-58.i386.rpm failed dependencies: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libcrypt.so.1(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libdl.so.2(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libdl.so.2(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libpam.so.0 is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 libutil.so.1(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by ppp-2.3.11-58 So I tried: pider:/home/hferinga # rpm -i --force libc-2.1.3-91.i386.rpm failed dependencies: kernel_headers is needed by libc-2.1.3-91 So I am basically stuck here. If I install the kernel headers, does that interfere with my linux source tree I have installed under /usr/src/linux (actually a symbolic link)? I have the kernel headers already in place (this is part of the kernel source isn't it?) And in what package can I find the appropriate kernel headers? All tips are welcome. TIA, Hans Feringa
