Never done it specifically, but I bet you can figure it out from the documentation for the packages "faac" and "mpg123". Hopefully someone with faac installed can chime in, I'm not sure exactly how it works.

Hi, you can use Perl Audio Converter. Just install pacpl (from Packman). http://opensuse-community.org/Package_Sources/Packman You could also install some of these : pacpl-amarok | Perl Audio Converter - Amarok extension pacpl-dolphin | Dolphin extension for Perl Audio Converter pacpl-kmdr | Perl Audio Converter - Kommander Interface pacpl-konqueror | Konqueror extension for Perl Audio Converter HTH -- Best regards / s pozdravem Petr Uzel, Packages maintainer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s.r.o. e-mail: puzel@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 964 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi The Soundconverter which you get from Packman can do this for you. Yust use the "OneClick Install" on http://packman.links2linux.de/package/soundconverter and Set the Soundconverter in the Settings to convert into AAC Greets Michael -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You can go through all the other answers and I suppose they'd be 'okay', but look for the 'kipi' or 'kim' (IIRR) things on packmans site. It'll allow you to right-click on a song file and give you the option to convert it to something else. Check out the screen capture I attached. -- Those who see no difference between people legally immigrating to the US and people who come here illegally must likewise see no difference between consensual sex and rape.
Other people have answered you as to how to do it. However, why would you want to do it? Lossy to lossy will sound like ass- it is like taking a photocopy of a photocopy. I would just use the mp3 files. Charles -- "The world is beating a path to our door" -- Bruce Perens, (Open Sources, 1999 O'Reilly and Associates)
Hello, Seems as if everyone is pointing to software converters. I usually use Media-Convert at http://www.media-convert.com to convert files and the quality is pretty good without installing any software and is pretty fast too! I think that you should go check it out... Allen Zhu allen.jaloola@gmail.com Zsa Zsa Gabor - "I'm a great housekeeper. I get divorced. I keep the house."
