All, I looked line by line through my kernel config file and found a module that I have inadvertantly left out, which in turn fixed the issue. Thanks :-) ============================================ Drew J. I think I may be missing something in my kernel, but I've looked high and low and cannot seem to find it. The error I am getting is: VFS= Cannot open root device " " or 03:03. Please append a correct "root=" to the boot option. So I did, I added a root=/dev/nfs. That failed with: VFS= Cannot open root device "dev" or 00:ff. Please append a correct "root=" to the boot option. What am I doing wrong, or what am I missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :-) ============================================ Drew J. All,
I am trying to build an NFS boot disk that will essentially boot the system via floppy using a 2.4.20 kernel (It seems to work great with my SuSE 7.2 boxes), grab a DHCP address from my DHCP server and then pull a custom SuSE distribution from my NFS Server.
I think I may be missing something in my kernel, but I've looked high and low and cannot seem to find it. The error I am getting is:
VFS= Cannot open root device " " or 03:03.
Thanks :-)
