I'd like to redefine the keys on one of the keyboards defined by XFree86 within the directory /usr/X11/lib/X11/kbd. The keyboards are defined in the file /usr/X11/lib/X11/xkb/rules/xfree86.lst, but the definitions there depend on other files. If you're using the KDE keyboard configuration selector, you can't use xmodmap to override these configurations, because KDE pays no attention to it. That means you have to go back to the configuration files in /usr/X11/lib/X11/kbd and make the change there. Can anyone here point me to the documentation on the files within /usr/X11/lib/X11/kbd? Thanks. Paul
Edit ~/.kde2/share/config/kxkbrc and change; Use=false Now you can use your own .Xmodmap Bulent Paz 29 Tem 2001 20:53 tarihinde şunları yazmıştınız:

Here's an oddity I discovered when I tried that. If you change the keyboard type via the KDE control center, the change is effective immediately. But if you disable keyboard mappings (which sets Use to false), the change isn't effective until you've logged out and logged in again. I actually knew about the "Use" setting, but this oddity led me to believe it didn't work. Your comment led me to experiment some more and discover the truth of the matter. Paul
