[opensuse] openSuse 10.3 - Bootsplash problem
Hi, I recently installed openSuSE 10.3. But I never got the bootsplash working out of the box after the installation. I would like to find out what I can do to fix this. I do have everything installed for it, and I did the installation in the GUI installation. my dmesg.log sais Kernel command line: root=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_SAMSUNG_SP2004CS07GJ1FL903403-part5 vga=0x31b noapic resume=/dev/sda3 splash=silent 3 bootsplash: silent mode. my menu.lst for grub sais title openSUSE 10.3 - 2.6.22.9-0.4 root (hd0,1) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.22.9-0.4-default root=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_SAMSUNG_SP2004CS07GJ1FL903403-part5 vga=0x31b noapic resume=/dev/sda3 splash=silent showopts initrd /initrd-2.6.22.9-0.4-default The theme for the bootsplash is "SuSE" witch is available in the /etc/bootsplash/themes folder. Can I see if there are any errors anywhere that I can help figureing out what is wrong? I have a x64 system with a ATI Radeon 1650 SE graphic card. Everything worked out of the box, except this. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/openSuse-10.3---Bootsplash-problem-tf4658219.html#a133... Maybe your card does not support a 16M color framebuffer. Perhaps try 0x31a, which is 1280x1024x64k. See /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt for more info (if you installed the kernel source).
