[opensuse] Easy upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1 from iso
Hi list, I have downloaded the 11.1 installation iso, burned it and boot it from my laptop which 11.0 is installed. I was expecting that i will get an upgrade option which will only upgrade the packages and save my data and modifications but the upgrade option of the nstallation program of 11.1 seem to format the whole disks. So i have cancelled the operation. These kind of things were solved before including other distribitions so does anybody know why this is so on 11.1 and is there a simple way (not needing to use my linux information)? You should be presented with an option to upgrade. Which iso did you download? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The upgrade option is there, as always. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAknXjU4ACgkQtTMYHG2NR9Wk8QCfaJhp7Q5IaGolsDRYnfqEAHYJ 1pwAoIFV5PPy7U1J49plC0KjXWQKH7dn =g/wS -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Hi, First of all thanks for the answers. After trying once more booting from 11.1 DVD, starting the installation and choosing the "update" (not mentioned as upgrade as i can remember) worked well this time. I must seen something wrong before. Regards Bora Özden Carlos E. R. wrote:
