Hi, I just upgrade from ALSA 0.5 to ALSA 0.9. I can use aplay to play wav files. However, in KDE (3.0.3), I encounter these troubles: 1. When I execute "rcalsasound stop", I got alot of these warnings: Sep 9 16:13:43 nus-cincaipatron kernel: ALSA ../alsa-kernel/core/memory.c:84: kmalloc(76) from c382a8e1 not freed Sep 9 16:13:43 nus-cincaipatron kernel: ALSA ../alsa-kernel/core/memory.c:84: kmalloc(9) from c382a8ff not freed Those warnings were repeated (almost 10 times, I think). 2. with ALSA 0.5, I can force artsd to use "ALSA" instead of "Autodetect". Now, if I force artsd to use "ALSA", artsd reported that "device: /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device or address)". Regards, Verdi

Seems that kde for suse below 8.0 is not compiled to support alsa 0.9. Just upgraded arts to use 8.0's. I also upgraded audiofile and kdemultimedia3, just to make sure. So far, no problem yet.
