9.3 and now kavi2svcd is broke

I'm not sure what happened, but kavi2svcd stopped working. I have SUSE9.3 and kavi2svcd 0.8.4-1 Now when I run it, the dialog window comes up, I select an AVI file to convert, and the window crashes. I am sooo tired of reinstalling apps to make 9.3 work! I know it was working in 9.3 but I have no idea why it stopped working. -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux user # 367800 X-Request-PGP: http://home.comcast.net/~p.cartwright/wsb/key.asc

Start a terminal window, and in it start kavi2vcd. At least you may see why it breaks. Cheers Sunny

After installing some missing programs, like toolame, I almost had it working. Not sure exactly what was still wrong with avi2svcd, but I tried kavi2svcd again, and IT DID WORK!

Hehe, you don't know how strange the world is ... I have never used kavi2svcd, just gave you a tip which may help to diagnose the problem. And just today I need to use kavi2svcd. Unfortunately, it does not seem to work right on my 9.1. By "not work right" I mean it starts, I can select the avi file, and then it runs some "frame skipping", etc., messages in the 2 boxes, and that's it. Is says that if the 2 pictures are not the same, I have to select the checkbox. But in the boxes I have text, not pictures. So, I guess something is not right. But if I click "start" button, it starts to reencode> I'll see the result in a couple of hours ... Cheers Sunny
